Trans-Mediterranean Renewable Energy Cooperation (TREC)
Co-founded by Sahara Wind Inc. in 2003, the TREC-Network is a not for profit initiative in the field of renewable forms of energy aimed at fostering Partnerships for Development, Climate Stabilisation and Good Neighbourhood. A few members of this group were involved in creating a foundation called Desertec in 2009. |

Launched in 2010 MEDGRID is an industrial initiative registered as a private venture under French law aimed at assessing the transfer of renewable electricity across the Mediterranean Sea on a larger scale. |
