Presentation :

The International Centre for Hydrogen Energy Technologies has supported the realization of a wind-hydrogen project in Morocco and Mauritania, co-ordinated by the Sahara Wind company. This effort has led to the NATO “Science for Peace” SfP-982620 Project which aims to:

    * Use electrolysers as a stabiliser in weak electricity grids;
    * Co-develop electrolyzers for local conditions;
    * Map wind resource potential;
    * Develop two test benches;
    * Evaluate local market opportunities for hydrogen, oxygen or chlor-alkali electrolysis by-products.

UNIDO-ICHET participates in this project aimed at directing efforts toward hydrogen energy technologies using its state of the art fuel cell laboratory that disposes of all the necessary tools to conduct the most advanced research in the field. ICHET is also in the process of expanding capabilities into hydrogen production and storage with state of the art production, storage and characterization equipment. Our laboratories will be used for the testing of prototypes and products developed in this NATO SfP-982620 applied research Project.
