Sahara Wind - Home
Understanding PDF Print E-mail
In some regions where winds are abundant, wind power could be considered as a reliable source of energy. Access to this energy in the form of electricity generation remains limited however, due to the erratic and intermittent nature of wind. Grid stability hampers significantly the amount of wind electricity that can be fed into a distribution system. Indeed, the most advanced and interconnected grids can hardly integrate an overall balance ratio of 25% of electricity supply from wind, which remains fairly limited an alternative at best. Our efforts are therefore focused on the deployment of technologies that can maximize the economic impact of this resource in the region, via industrial synergies and as part of an integrated strategy in the fight against global climate change.
